Start with NCERT, finish with NCERT
Almost every question in the CBSE Class 10 board paper comes from NCERT. Before buying any extra book, make sure every in-text question, exercise and example of NCERT is done. In Science, read NCERT line by line — many one-mark questions come straight from the text.
Mark each chapter green, yellow or red depending on how confident you feel. Red chapters get your best hours of the day.
July to October: complete the syllabus
Use these months to finish the full syllabus once. Give one weekly test per subject. At Vinay Academy every student writes a chapter test every week, and the mistakes from these tests become the student's personal revision list.
November to January: sample papers
Solve one full sample paper every two or three days in exactly three hours. Check it the same day. Write every mistake in an 'error notebook' with the correct method. This notebook is worth more than any guide book in the final month.
The last 30 days
No new books. Revise your short notes, your error notebook and the previous five years' papers. Sleep for at least seven hours — memory is strengthened while you sleep.
Practise answer presentation: underline key words, draw neat diagrams, and write step-by-step solutions in Maths. Presentation alone can add 3–5 marks per paper.
